Middle-Earth: Shadow of War Gets Free-to-Play Mobile Tie-In

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War launches in October on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but the adventure won’t end on consoles. Players can continue the fight in Middle-Earth: Shadow of War Mobile, a free-to-play real-time RPG that follows Talion, Celebrimbor, Elatriel, and other original characters. In additional to these Middle-Earth: Shadow of War characters, players will also be able to unlock and play as famous characters from The Lord of the Rings trilogy, including Gimli and Boromir.

While the mobile game won’t launch until this fall on iOS and Android devices, players can begin pre-registering for it now. Those that pre-register on iOS devices will receive an exclusive character bundle featuring Ratbag and an Orc starter army. Meanwhile, those that pre-order on Android will receive a version of Shelob in her fair form.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is out October 10 on PS4, Xbox One and PC and follows Talion and Celebrimbor as they seek to overthrow Sauron. Along the way, they’ll tangle with familiar characters such as the Witch-King, Shelob and a mighty Balrog of Morgoth. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War Mobile hits compatible iOS and Android devices sometime this fall.
