ARK: Survival Evolved Has Gone Gold With Release Date

It sure is refreshing when games actually leave Early Access. Studio Wildcard’s ARK: Survival Evolved is one such game. After a two-year journey in Early Access, ARK has gathered a fan-base and presumably reached a state of relative refinement as a dino-island, online survival game. Now that ARK: Survival Evolved has gone gold, there are editions of the game for pre-purchase: base edition, Explorer’s Edition, and Limited Collector’s Edition. This should be familiar. Explorer’s Edition reaches past the base $60 and sits as a $100 package. Needless to say, the Explorer’s Edition will at least include the Season Pass — yes, there is one. However, the real meat comes in with the Limited Collector’s Edition priced at $159.99:

  • A handcrafted leather-bound Explorer’s Notebook, featuring the Dossiers of every in-game creature
  • An official ARK necklace
  • A cloth map of the ARK island
  • A poster of the Studio Wildcard development team
  • The official ARK: Survival Evolved soundtrack, recorded live by the Philharmonia Orchestra

At the end of the day, is up the owner of the wallet just how much they love this game before playing the final build. That said, ARK: Survival Evolved is set to release digitally and physically this year on August 29, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
