BioShock Turns Ten, Gets 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edition

BioShock launched ten years ago today, beginning one of the most influential franchises of the seventh-generation of consoles.

It began ten years ago with a plane crash. A lone survivor entered a bathosphere, and we were transported to the undersea city of Rapture. It was a moment that blew everyone away, and, by the end of the game, everyone’s minds were blown multiple more times. BioShock became a landmark title for storytelling in video games, and spawned a sequel (BioShock 2) in 2010 and another (BioShock Infinite) in 2013. Now, it is time to celebrate.

2K Games is celebrating the milestone with the BioShock 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edition, and a party at PAX West that everyone is invited to. Taking place September 2 from 9pm-12am, the event will feature Rapture themed food and drinks as well as music from DJ Kristina Childs. There will also be a cosplay contest where participants will be able to win lavish prizes.

The BioShock 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edition is available for pre-order on PS4 and Xbox One now for $199.99 exclusively at GameStop and the 2K Store. It’ll go on sale November 14 and comes with a copy of BioShock: The Collection and a 11.9-inch Big Daddy and Little Sister statue. Modeled after the first game’s box art, the statue features a motorized drill, light-up components, and audio clips from the game.

BioShock: The Collection is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will be discounted to celebrate the anniversary.
