Expansion Draft Coming to NHL 18

The NHL is adding a Las Vegas franchise for the upcoming season. Aiming to reshape its Franchise Mode, NHL 18 is adding the Expansion Draft to the game. While the Expansion Draft existed in the NHL franchise way back in 2000 with the Nashville Predators, this feature will allow players to build their own team (or the Vegas Golden Knights) all while choosing a city and customizing arenas. For owners of current teams, they will be tasked with selecting protected players that cannot be selected by the new team. Owners can also give long term contracts during the season. Couple this with more diverse player ratings and more NHL-ready players in the rookie draft, NHL 18 looks to offer more with its Franchise Mode than ever before. Check out the trailer below and pre-order NHL 18 today to play three days early. The game releases worldwide September 15 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
