The Xbox One X “More Power” Curry 4 VIP Kit is one of the stranger promotional bundles I’ve come across this year. Microsoft, Under Armour and NBA basketball player Stephen Curry have joined together to create this bundle that is not for sale and will only be given away to select famous people. Let me repeat that, you cannot buy this. This bundle is only being given out to select press and influencers, and surprisingly peon writers at Hardcore Gamer such as this author did not make the cut to receive this VIP Kit. This bundle includes an Xbox One X, a pair of socks, a pair of shoes, a roller tote that can charge Xbox One X controllers and a pair of V-MODA Crossfade 2 Wireless Headphones with BoomPro Gaming Mic. A complete analysis of this package can be found on the Xbox website. Even though some of the items included in this bundle look nice, I have read their press release several times and am still trying to wrap my head around its existence, which is in no small part due to the inclusion of socks and sneakers and being curious as to who would purchase this bundle if they could just for the Xbox socks. In fairness, Stance could very well be a quality brand and the Xbox branded stockings could provide immense comfort in the lower extremities but I will not be able to purchase this bundle so that will be one of the unanswered questions that will remain a mystery until my dying day.
Despite the existence of this package of assorted items that don’t necessarily equate to Xbox gaming, the inclusion of the V-MODA Crossfade 2 Wireless Headphones seem to be one of the more practical gaming items aside from the actual Xbox One X. I do enjoy high end headsets and while I can’t speak for V-MODA from personal experience in either direction the Crossfade 2 looks like it has potential to be a high quality piece of equipment. An advantage to being able to purchase this headset from V-MODA’s website instead of in this ridiculously named and quite likely ludicrously expensive bundle is the buyer would be able to customize the headset to their liking, so while this package as a whole is baffling the Crossfade 2 is something worth investigating. At this time, there is no definitive answer on whether or not Stance will allow consumers the opportunity to design their own custom Xbox socks.
