Hideo Kojima Confirmed as a Presenter for The Game Awards 2017

UPDATE #1: Geoff Keighley, the host and creator of The Game Awards, on Twitter revealed that Kojima and del Toro will present an award together on the night.

UPDATE #2: The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus, who featured in the first trailer for Death Stranding, has been revealed as the latest presenter for The Game Awards. The announcement was confirmed via The Game Awards’ tweet.

“Going to be such a special night on many fronts and we’ve been saving some big surprises,” Keighley‏ tweeted.

Can we now expect to see — or hear — something new about Death Stranding at The Game Awards? It would seem more likely by the minute.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Game Awards has confirmed that Hideo Kojima will be one of the presenters at the awards show next week.

The acclaimed Metal Gear Solid creator, who received the Industry Icon Award at The Game Awards in 2016, will be attending the show for the second consecutive year.

“We are so thrilled to announce our next presenter for Thursday night: Hideo Kojima! The legendary game director will once again appear at The Game Awards,” reads The Game Awards’ tweet.

Earlier today, Kojima posted on his Twitter account a photo from a plane that he had boarded.

It has already been confirmed that film director Guillermo del Toro, who was to work with Kojima on the canceled Silent Hills title, will be at The Game Awards.

Del Toro stars in Kojima’s first post-Metal Gear Solid project, Death Stranding, which had a trailer premiere at the 2016 Game Awards.

This year’s Game Awards will take place on Thursday, December 7, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. It will be streamed on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Twitch.
