Digerati Distribution and K Bros Games today announced a new partnership to bring the 2D puzzle-platformer Albert & Otto to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Albert & Otto is slated for release on January 10 for Xbox One. Meanwhile, PS4 owners will receive Albert & Otto on January 16 in North America and January 17 in Europe.
Planned and marketed as four standalone episodes, Albert & Otto’s first episode, ‘The Adventure Begins,’ was released for PC and macOS in 2015.
Despite failing to fund its initial Kickstarter campaign in 2015, K Bros listed Albert & Otto on Steam for $4.99.
Digerati Distribution says that the following three episodes “never materialized due to insufficient funding.”
“By bringing the first episode to console audiences, developer K Bros hopes it may be afforded the opportunity to finally complete the story of Albert & Otto as originally intended,” Digerati Distribution said in a press release.
Albert & Otto’s story takes place in 1939 Germany, as players take control of a boy and team up with a “magical” bunny, which belonged to the boy’s sister.
The duo must overcome “murderous beasts and lethal puzzles” in order to find the boy’s abducted sister.
