Crystal Dynamics Assembles Industry Talent for The Avengers Project

Top video game industry talent assemble at Crystal Dynamics to work on the upcoming Avengers projects.

A year ago, Disney, Marvel and Square Enix announced a multi-game partnership that involved developer Crystal Dynamics creating a game based on the Avengers. At the time, Square Enix promised that we’d hear more about the project in 2018. Well, the new year is here, and Crystal Dynamics has some exciting news. Top industry talent have joined the project, including Naughty Dog Creative Director Shaun Escayg and Stephen Barry, a 27 year Veteran from EA/Visceral Games.

Mr. Escayg joins the team as Creative Director . He previously served as Creative Director and writer on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and led the cinematics team on The Last of Us. “I’m thrilled to join Crystal as Creative Director and be aligned with a team as passionate about telling great character based stories as I am.”

Mr. Barry joins the team as Director of Production. Previously, Mr. Barry held numerous positions at Electronic Arts, including Director of Product Development at the recently shuttered Visceral Games. “Crystal’s been around almost as long as I’ve been in the business. The immediate chemistry and camaraderie has been exactly what I’d hoped for.”

Expect to hear more about Crystal Dynamics upcoming Avengers project throughout 2018. Crystal Dynamics’ latest game, Rise of the Tomb Raider, is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
