MakinGames — a studio formed by ex-Rare developers no less — have joined forces with Team17 to bring their debut release, Raging Justice, to consoles and PC later this year. Raging Justice, which harkens back to the days of Streets of Rage, Final Fight and Double Dragon, aims to provide that same challenging style of brawling gameplay to the modern era, complete with a distinct art-style.
As you might expect, the world of Raging Justice isn’t exactly a pleasant one with an upturn in crime and corruption inevitably meaning that things are about to get a lot more violent on the streets of Big Smoke City, however it doesn’t have to always be that way. Interestingly, one of the twists to the game’s mechanics is that aside from straight-up brawling, players can decide instead to arrest their opponent, which in turn nets you additional health, but if you’re simply going for the high-score, the “bad cop” route is preferred. As much a passion project as it is their debut outing, Raging Justice is aiming to release sometime this year across PS4, Xbox One, Switch & PC. Check out the game’s announcement trailer below.
