NPD Group: Monster Hunter World, Dragon Ball FighterZ Top January 2018 Charts

January is often a notoriously slow month for new game releases, after the packed holiday season that features most of the year’s biggest titles.

However, two highly anticipated and well-received titles, Monster Hunter World and Dragon Ball FighterZ, both released on the final Friday of last month, which was apparently plenty of time for both to secure the first and second spots respectively in the NPD Group’s January 2018 charts. Call of Duty: WWII, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds and Grand Theft Auto V rounded out the top five, with the only other January 2018 releases appearing in the top twenty spots being UFC 3 at number thirteen and Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT at number nineteen.
