Capcom today announced that Monster Hunter: World has surpassed another sales milestone to become the company’s best-selling title yet.
Monster Hunter: World is doing very well. The game is fantastic, and, just three days after launch, had already shipped five million units. What once was a cult series had turned into a full-blown blockbuster overnight. Now, a month later, the game has reached a new sales milestone.
Monster Hunter: World has shipped 7.5 million units worldwide, including digital sales, on PS4 and Xbox One. The game is now the best-selling title in Capcom history. A PC version is currently scheduled to be released later this year.
Today’s milestone caps years of hard work by the dedicated development team. The first Monster Hunter made its debut 14 years ago in 2004 and quickly became a favorite among a dedicated base of fans. Since then, the franchise continued to grow with each release until it became the mega-hit we have today. In total, sales for the franchise as a whole sit at more than 48 million.
Monster Hunter: World is out now on PS4 and Xbox One. We’ll let you know when Capcom announces a release date for the PC version.
