War Drum Studios, responsible for mobile ports like Bully and Grand Theft Auto, are teaming up with ARK: Survival Evolved developer Studio Wildcard to bring the MMO survival game to mobile devices. Fans of ARK may be wondering how they’re planning to shrink an MMO survival game with great expanses of land, varying creatures and features over to something on the go. The mobile version of the title is set to include the same online survival experience that PC and console versions of the game include, explorable island included, along with more than eighty different creatures and dinosaurs. Multiplayer tribe mechanics also get to be in the port, along with the crafting and building. As a mobile game, it’s actually going to be free-to-play. It’s since had a limited Closed Beta, but with a release planned for this year, it’ll take a little bit of time to see just how this stacks up as a mobile experience, especially an apparently free one.
Take a look at the trailer for the mobile version below. The ARK: Survival Evolved mobile version is headed out to iOS App Store and Google Play Store this Spring.
