Dame Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon Reprise Their Roles for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Jam City today announced a number of actors will reprise their famous roles for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery aims to give players the chance to experience life as a Hogwarts student. Part of that experience includes attending lessons taught by famous witches and wizards like Minerva McGonagall and Albus Dumbledore. It’s a goof thing that developer Jam City has managed to bring back key actors from the films.

Harry Potter film actors like Dame Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon, and Warwick Davis return to their classic roles, giving players an authentic Hogwarts experience. As the game takes place before the events of the films, actors like Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Tom Felton are not involved. Here is the full list of returning actors:

  • Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall)
  • Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore)
  • Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick)
  • Sally Mortemore (Madam Irma Pince)
  • Gemma Jones (Madam Pomfrey)
  • Zoe Wanamaker (Madam Hooch)

In Hogwarts Mystery, players create their own character, get sorted into a house, attend classes, and uncover mysteries. Players will make pivotal decisions during their journey that influences the arc of the stories and the types of relationships they can form.

“Our goal with Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is to make players really feel for the first time like they’re attending Hogwarts,” said Chris DeWolfe, co-founder and CEO of Jam City. “By including these iconic and incredibly talented actors in the game, we come one step closer to truly giving fans their own Hogwarts experience.”

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery hits iOS and Android devices on April 25.
