Mutant Football League has been available digitally for a while now. At E3 2018, it was announced that not only a physical edition would be released, but also a version for the Nintendo Switch. Today, Digital Dreams Entertainment has announced that these editions will release on September 18 for $29.99. “We’re looking forward to introducing Mutant Football League to an all new audience with its debut on the Nintendo Switch,” said Michael Mendheim, Creative Director of Digital Dreams. “With the Dynasty Edition, old and new players alike can really build onto the core game to make their own unique experience. The only predictable element across the board is broken bones and fun.”
The Dynasty Edition boasts some huge improvements to the original game. Not only will the rosters be updated, but players can play in a Dynasty Mode where they can play the GM and the coach for their favorite Mutant Football League team. They will start with a group of unproven rookies and turn them into monstrous all-stars by winning Mayhem Bowls. The goal is to continue to get contract extensions. Other factors will play into the dynasty including off-the-field issues. Free Agents, player trades, cumulative player experience, salary management and custom playbooks will offer a bunch for players to do over five seasons.
Dynasty Edition also introduces two brand new species with the Rampaging Werewolves and Hell-Spawned Demons. Players will also have access to six new teams including the Purple Mutant Eaters and Hexxon Oilers for retail exclusive team content. There will also be new dirty tricks, a four-player local multiplayer, and plenty of devastating hits that will be covered beautifully by former NBA Jam and NFL Blitz announcer Tim Kitzrow. It looks like the over-the-top fun is going to get quite a bit of depth with this update.
