Undertale is one of the best-received indie RPGs ever made, and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Kenny Omega is arguably the best pro wrestler in the modern era. Toby Fox and Kenny Omega have recently worked together to create a trailer to not only hype up Kenny Omega’s upcoming Wrestle Kingdom 13 main event against Hiroshi Tanahashi, but also craft something that shows just how well pro wrestling works within the framework of a JRPG.
In the video, Kenny plays a game store clerk who sells a faux-Famicom game that features his quest to defeat Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 13. It appears that this is only a video – but hopefully, we’ll see a playable version of this released at some point. These two have had matches before, with each fighting over the Intercontinental title before – but neither beating the other for that title or the IWGP Heavyweight Title. Their upcoming match on January 4 is set to be their biggest one yet and will main event New Japan’s biggest show of the year in the Tokyo Dome. The show will be available to stream live via NJPWWorld either via the website or their app on the Amazon appstore.
