Nintendo Switch Earns Record Hardware, Software Numbers for 2018

Last night, Nintendo revealed their financial results for the period between April 1 and December 31, 2018, and there are some undeniably impressive numbers for the hybrid platform.

During that nine month period, the Nintendo Switch sold nearly fifteen million units, bringing the lifetime sales of the console to over 32 million in 22 months on the market. Meanwhile, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has already reached over twelve million sales in under a month, making it the third best-selling Switch title behind Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the latter of which has become the first Switch game to reach fifteen million units. Pokemon Let’s Go also made a respectable debut, with both Pikachu and Eevee combining to reach ten million units and rank fifth in the highest-selling Switch titles list.
