Xbox Live Gold isn’t just a good way to play games online – it’s also one of the best values in the industry thanks to the Games With Gold service as well. Being able to have four free games added to your account each month is nice, and a wonderful way to try things you otherwise wouldn’t. March starts off strong with Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion for Xbox One and Star Wars: Republic Commando as the classic Xbox freebie. With the former, you have a world heavily influenced by the Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, with a turn-based RPG design. The latter has you command your own team in the Star Wars universe and is a rare Star Wars licensed first-person shooter.
The second half of the month doesn’t take as many risks as the first when it comes to releases that might’ve flown under the radar. Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 is the Xbox One exclusive, while Metal Gear Rising Revengeance will be the 360 release for the second half of the month. Garden Warfare 2 continues the fun and exciting third person shooting/tower defense hybrid gameplay of that sub-series, while Revengeance is an action-centric game starring Raiden with the ability to slice and dice enemies into tiny pieces before they meet their end. As always, the vintage Xbox releases are kept on the account permanently, while the Xbox One releases are only playable with an active Gold subscription.
