Yooka-Laylee Receives 64-Bit Update

Though it is April Fool’s Day, this particular announcement is actually true no matter how odd it seems. Yooka-Laylee is in many ways the spiritual successor to the Banjo-Kazooie series and developed by members of the original team. It was released two years ago and is now receiving an old school update.

The team has been working hard on a 64 bit version of the game since it came out and all the progress is finally ready on this foolish day. Visit Vendi in the game and you’ll be able to use a Tonic which transforms the entire game’s appearance to match that Nintendo 64 style. Everything gets a bit pixelated that you’ll feel just like a kid again!

Yooka-Laylee owners can check it out now on Switch and PC. The update is still on the way for PS4 and Xbox One. Check out the trailer below to see all the retro fun.
