Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Releasing This June

After more than fours years of being the public eye, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night looks to have nailed down a firm release date following a series of delays and reactions to feedback from consumers about the potential quality of the end product. The long-anticipated spiritual successor to Castlevania — which, up until Shenmue III popped up similarly out-of-nowhere a month later on the same platform, had become the most funded video game campaign on Kickstarter at the time — will release across PS4, Xbox One & PC (via Steam and GoG) on June 18. The Switch version will follow a week later on June 25.

To coincide with today’s announcement, developers behind the project have put out a new trailer, but one that appears to respond directly to the feedback and criticism left following the previous beta backer that was released. A lot of the criticism in fact — the trailer eventually getting flooded with many a screen-grab of comments. Even producer Koji Igarashi gets in on the action, vouching to prove everyone wrong; the trailer then proceeding to transition between its old build and the updated version which certainly looks better than what players were used to previous.
