Capcom today announced that the original Devil May Cry is coming to Switch this summer.
Capcom hasn’t been shy about porting some of their older games to Nintendo Switch. In May alone we’re getting ports of Resident Evils 0, 1, and 4. This trend continues this summer with another franchise, Devil May Cry.
Taking to Twitter, Capcom confirmed that the original title is coming to Switch. However, they didn’t say if this is the original title that premiered on PS2 in 2001, or the HD remastered version currently available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Devil May Cry originally launched in 2001 for the PlayStation 2. Conceptualized as the fourth Resident Evil game, director Hideki Kamiya ultimately converted the project into a new IP. Since then, protagonist Dante has morphed into an industry recognized figure. Consequently, the series has spawned four sequels, a reboot, and tie-ins with the Marvel vs Capcom series and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
