Destiny Connect: Tick-Tock Travelers Sets Its Arrival Date For October 22

Even though it’s hardly ever done well, time-travel nonetheless serves as very fertile ground for interesting game ideas. The latest game taking it on is Nippon Ichi’s Destiny Connect: Tick-Tock Travelers, a game in which two kids and a robot use it to prevent hostile machines from taking over their present-day town of Clocknee. It sounds a Terminator-esque, but that’s not quite what’s going on here.

Based on what’s been shown here and on the game’s website, Destiny Connect: Tick-Tock Travelers is about solving mysteries and battling belligerent ‘bots. Not much has been shown of the game’s combat yet, but the few glimpses shown in this trailer appear to indicate a turn-based RPG system. The mystery element, on the other hand, revolves around finding the cause for the machines somewhere in Clocknee’s past. It sounds like players will be able to freely-roam Clocknee, so it’ll be up to them to find the necessary clues and piece them together. If the time-travel is incorporated throughout the game, this could shape up to be a pretty decent adventure.

Destiny Connect: Tick-Tock Travelers launches for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on October 22.
