E3 2019: AMD Reveals Pricing on new Video Card and Ryzen Processors at E3

AMD hosted its own conference today at E3 2019 and revealed a new set of video cards along with adding to the Ryzen 3 family of processors. The Radeon RX 5700 line of video cards will rival the NVidia GTX 1060 and 1070 and feature 8 GB of GDDR6 RAM for both the 5700 and 5700 XT. The AMD Radeon RX 5700 will launch on July 7 for $379 and provide a performance boost over the GTX 1060. It comes in at 7.95 teraflops.

The higher level card, the RX 5700 XT, will release at $499 and provides a good performance boost over the GTX 1070. These are the first cards for the line of Navi cards by AMD. The 5700 XT tops out at 9.75 teraflops. There will also be a 50th anniversary variant available. The company also announced the latest Ryzen 3000 processors with the 3900X and 3950X. Both of these will focus on gaming performance.

The Ryzen 3900X will release for $499 and feature 12 cores and 24 threads. In a performance comparison, the 3900X beat out Intel’s i9-9900k as it is at a much lower price point. The newly unveiled top processor, which will increase that performance gap, is the Ryzen 3950X. This will feature 16 cores and 32 threads with a price point of $749. It releases in September.
