Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Gameplay Reveal set for August 1

Activision and Infinity Ward today announced that the worldwide reveal for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s multiplayer takes place August 1.

Described as a multiplayer universe, players will get their first look on August 1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s multiplayer seeks to unite the Call of Duty community with cross-play across all three platforms, and the elimination of the traditional season pass. No word yet on what will replace the ‘traditional’ season pass. However, Infinity Ward did provide some details on a brand new multiplayer game mode.

Gunfight is a new 2v2 mode that puts players into a tight arena. All players spawn with a random selection of weapons, attachments, and gear. There are no perks, custom classes, or other bells-and-whistles. In conclusion, it’s just you, your partner, your random weapon, and your skill. In addition, Infinity Ward confirmed they have many more multiplayer modes and features to show off during the reveal.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out October 25 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Tune in August 1 to the official Call of Duty Twitch channel to witness the world premiere.
