Be it the likes of Broforce or Gorn, developer Free Lives has tended to produce insane and fun results whenever they team up with Devolver Digital. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that the duo are back at it again, this time for the upcoming Apple Arcade service. What is a surprise is the subject of their latest game: The classic sport of cricket. Free Lives will indeed be exploring the sport in their latest game, Cricket Through the Ages. By “exploring,” though, we mean…well, the trailer below should give you an idea.
Though “inarguably accurate recollections of history,” Cricket Through the Ages sees players competing in cricket duels though the Stone Age, medieval times, outer space, and many more parts of the past, present, and future. Gameplay details are actually a bit scarce, but notably, it describes itself as a one-button, physics-driven game. Not to mention that it’s a local multiplayer game, which should hopefully provide some laughs with friends. No specific release date was given for Cricket Through the Ages, but it’s a safe bit that it’ll appear in Apple Arcade on September 19, launching alongside all of the service’s other games.
