The third Saturday of every September has routinely become known as Batman Day, marking an opportunity to celebrate the Dark Knight’s history across comic books, TV, film and video games.

Yesterday, WB Montreal shared a tweet recognizing the DC superhero’s holiday, marking the Canadian developer’s first tweet from that account in over four years. While this post could have been simply seen as an innocent acknowledgment to the protagonist of their most recent title, 2013’s Batman: Arkham Origins, the included video featured some strange symbols that disrupted the stationary Bat-Signal picture. These symbols were once again showcased in the tweet above that was shared earlier today that was simply captioned “Capture the Knight”, with the strange symbology potentially referencing the ominous Court of Owls group that has previously been rumored as the antagonist of a potential Batman: Arkham title. With WB Montreal calling attention to themselves after such an extensive period of silence, news about their next project could be coming imminently, perhaps as soon as tomorrow with both State of Play and Inside Xbox video presentations being live streamed tomorrow afternoon at 1 PM PT and 3 PM PT respectively.
Stay tuned to Hardcore Gamer as more is revealed about WB Montreal’s next project, and be sure to check out the Caped Crusader’s other video game-related celebrations this past weekend, including a Fortnite event and six free Batman titles being offered on the Epic Games Store.
