Mario & Sonic are returning to the Olympic Games this November, and it looks like they’ll be competing in multiple dimensions this time around. In addition to 21 standard 3D events, Mario and company will also have ten 2D events to compete against each other in. With one exception, these will all be different events than those available in 3D and will put the classic versions of all the characters through their paces. They’ll need to pull out all the stops too, otherwise Bowser and Dr. Eggman will have free reign during the main events.
The story this time around is that Sonic and his friends have been trapped in an old “Tokyo 64” console and have to outperform Bowser and Dr. Eggman if they want to escape. Once out, it’s off to the games to compete in all manner of official and “dream” events and hopefully claim that sweet Olympic gold.
