Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 3 will include female riders and overhauled physics

One of Monster Energy Supercross’ most prestigious events took place over the weekend in Las Vegas. Following in that same tradition was the announcement of this year’s game that is being developed by Milestone. The third installment of Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame will look to continue to build on the previous two games. The game is set to release on February 4, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia.

Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 3 will include all the riders and courses from the 2019 season. This is 15 official stadiums and tracks along with the return of the track editor which has reached 53,000 various tracks to easily download and play. Players will also be able to race in co-op mode with up to three other friends in the Fantasy Supercross Practice Track in California. This includes nine tracks where most of the OEMs that feature bikes in AMA and FIM test their bikes.

Milestone is carrying over its online multiplayer design from the latest MotoGP game and implementing it into this game. This means players will have dedicated servers that include public and private lobbies and a Race Director mode for customizing tournaments and other races.

Milestone has also overhauled the rider and character models in this game by rebuilding them from the ground up. The new photo-scanned models will also include new animations and allowed Milestone to incorporate female riders for the first time. The female riders will also have their own sets of animations and physics. Tracks also will become more lively thanks to an improved particle system for fireworks and flames. Lastly, a new in-air bike control system has been implemented to better handle jumps. You can watch the trailer below of the announcement along with screenshots of the game.
