Battlefield V: War in the Pacific Makes Landfall October 31

DICE today confirmed when the highly-anticipated Eastern Front hits Battlefield V.

Join the struggle between American and Japanese forces across the Pacific in Battlefield V’s next chapter, War in the Pacific. The latest batch of new content arrives October 31, bringing with it new maps, weapons, and vehicles.

War in the Pacific adds in three new maps, all of them remakes of classic maps. First up, American and Japanese forces clash on the island of Iwo Jima. Brave the weather on Pacific Storm, a set of islands based on the Paracel Storm map from Battlefield 4. Finally, there’s the beloved Wake Island map, which won’t be ready for launch. Instead, that map launches in December.

War in the Pacific brings a slew of new American and Japanese weapons to the battlefield. At launch, each class gets a brand new weapon:

  • M1 Garand (Assault)
  • Type 100 SMG (Medic)
  • M1919A6 MMG (Support)
  • Type 99 Arisaka (Recon)

These weapons are just the start. Chapter 5 will continuously add more weapons as it progresses, including the M3 Grease Gun, Nambu Type 2A, Type 97 LMG, M1918 A2, Jungle Carbine, Type 94, and Model 27. Players will also be able to utilize the katana and flamethrower as battle pick-ups.

As for vehicles, both the American and Japanese armies bring their own flair to the fight. In terms of tanks, players can hop into the American M4 Sherman, or utilize the Japanese Type 97. With a focus on naval maps, both sides come outfitted with Amphibious Tanks that can traverse land and seas. These are the LVT and Ka-Mi. There’s also the infamous Dinghy, though that boat will leave you more vulnerable. Finally, both sides get new planes; the F4U Corsair for the Americans and Zero Fighter for the Japanese.

Battlefield V is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. All gameplay content, including maps, weapons, and vehicles, are free for all players who own the game.
