Since it was announced during Nintendo’s E3 2019 Switch showcase, it was assumed that Panzer Dragoon: Remake would be a Switch exclusive title. Well, it turns out that won’t be the case. It was announced today that fans of the classic, dragon-themed shooter will also be able to enjoy it on PC via Steam. It’s also been revealed that the PC version will launch at the same time as its Switch counterpart, so there won’t be any reason to jump platforms in order to play early.
For those who are unfamiliar with Panzer Dragoon, the game began its life in 1995 on the Sega Saturn, and it has since become one of the most highly regarded titles from that system’s library. Two more games would follow it on the Saturn, and one more, Panzer Dragoon Orta, on the original Xbox. The series has been more or less dormant since then, so the prospect of both the original game and its sequel, Panzer Dragoon II Zwei, getting remakes is quite a significant turn of events for series fans. Those who aren’t yet fans should at least look into it if they enjoy shooters and have an affinity for dragons.
Panzer Dragoon: Remake is currently set to launch in late 2019 for PC and Nintendo Switch.
