For the second time this generation, EA Sports has cancelled NBA Live. The game was originally pushed back over the summer with no release date provided. EA is instead changing the focus to the next generation in hopes of getting a head start on rival NBA 2K. The series has made a ton of strides but continued to play catch up the entire length. Each NBA Live game that released since coming back from the dead released for $40 and would significantly drop in price over the duration of just a few weeks. There are plenty of times that the last two NBA Live titles literally hit $5, and it was far from a bad game. Some argue that the visuals were better than 2K’s along with the atmosphere in the arenas. NBA Live also featured ESPN presentation. The statement from EA is below.
