Terry Bogard Added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Today

Terry Bogard is the latest challenger arriving to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He is a character from Fatal Fury that is recognizable to many retro fighting fans. Even if you don’t know who he is, having him in Smash is sure to appeal to many players.

Some highlights from Masahiro Sakurai’s gameplay stream show a good mixture of new and old. Terry will always face his opponent during one-on-one matches. He’s got neutral and smash attacks from the original series like Wild Upper and the newly added Somersault Kick while in the air. Special attacks come with a bit of heat. Power Wave can be launched slowly or quicker. Using it in mid-air create a short ranged burst. Burning Knuckle is the side attack that even has a command input. Terry comes with another side special though if you use the back direction. Crack Shoot is from the original game and delivers a powerful kick that can launch opponents. When Terry’s damage reaches a certain amount he will be able to use some special moves from Fatal Fury like Power Geyser and Buster Wolf. His Final Smash incorporates aspects from each and can deliver a chain of signature attacks.

There is a King of Fighters stage included which features a normal platform. If you get close enough to the sides there is a barrier which can be broken and eventually knock an opponent off the screen. Several characters from the series surround the ring just for cameo appearances. Even some character from other game titles show up. There are 50 new music tracks from various SNK games including Metal Slug and Samurai Shodown.

New Mii Fighter costumes have also been revealed. You can dress as Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, Ryo Sakazaki from Art of Fighting, Iori Yagami from The King of Fighters, as well as Akira and Jacky from Virtua Fighter.
