Netflix today announced that they’ve already renewed The Witcher for a second season.
The streaming giant gave The Witcher a rare early renewal a month ahead of the first season’s debut. It’s a rare move for a company that typically waits until they see how a show performs before announcing a renewal. However, it appears that the company has tremendous faith in the Henry Cavill-led fantasy series.

The Witcher follows the exploits of Geralt of Rivia (Cavill), a Witcher tasked with eliminating monsters across the continent. The series is based on Andrezj Sapowski’s novels of the same name. They were previously adapted into the popular The Witcher trilogy of games by CD Projekt Red. Production for Season 2 begins early 2020 with a premiere set for fall 2021.
The Witcher premieres December 20 exclusively on Netflix. On the other hand, if you’d rather play through Geralt’s adventures, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
