First-Person Cyberpunk Adventure Ghostrunner Gains Assist From 3D Realms

A few months ago, Polish developers One More Level and publisher All in! Games announced Ghostrunner, a first-person cyberpunk action game about climbing a Judge Dredd-style tower-city, slashing anyone it your path. It appeared to show quite a bit of promise, interesting more than a few people. And those people just happen to include legendary FPS publisher/developer 3D Realms, who have now partnered with the teams in order to help handle technical production and marketing of the game. In addition, long-time 3D Realms partner Slipgate Ironworks will assist in co-developing the game as well.

The aforementioned tower-city happens to also house the last of humanity, and in doing so, hides many secrets that our protagonist wishes to uncover. Thus they begin a journey to topple The Keymaster, and also learn more about their mysterious origin in the process. The climb won’t exactly be easy, though, as out hero can get taken down in one hit. Luckily, they also happen to have a high-tech blade on them that can carve enemies in half. In addition, they have bullet time skills to avoid shots, wall-running skills, grappling hooks, and many other tools to assist them, and as seen in the original reveal trailer below, it certainly creates a ton of fast-paced action.

One More Level found considerable success with similar action when they released God’s Trigger this year, so it should be interesting to see if they can score another hit, especially which this newfound assistance. Ghostrunner is due out in 2020 for PC, XB1, and PS4, and we can’t wait to see more of it.
