Geoff Keighley today confirmed that Resident Evil 3 won’t be among the titles announced during his awards show.
On Tuesday, Resident Evil fans got some good news. Cover art for a Resident Evil 3 Remake was uploaded to the PlayStation Store, suggesting that a reveal was imminent. As such, theories popped up that the game’s announcement could coming during The Game Awards 2019. While there are plenty of announcements planned for the show, Resident Evil 3 is not among the titles.
Speaking during a Reddit AMA, show creator and host Geoff Keighley shot down speculation about the remake’s reveal during his show:
“There are no plans (never were) to do anything with Resident Evil 3 at the show. A lot of these ‘leaks’ are completely wrong. Nothing about our show has leaked as of this writing.”
The night will still be filled with plenty of announcements. According to Keighley, 10 new games and projects will make their debut during the show, and none of them have leaked. The only confirmed announcement is Wolfeye Studios’ debut project. We’ll just have to wait an see what all’s in store for us.
As for Resident Evil 3, it’s currently unknown when Capcom may officially reveal the game. We’ll keep you updated should they make any announcements.
