The unified Bedrock version of Minecraft is coming to PlayStation 4 on December 10. With it comes the cross-play functionality that fans playing on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch have been enjoying for several months now. There are other perks wrapped up in this too, such as the ability to access the Minecraft Marketplace, but cross-play is perhaps the most significant feature getting added in this move.
The Bedrock version will be coming as an optional update to fans who already own the game, and will be the default version available to new PS4 players from here onward. Players who’ve been enjoying the PlayStation 4 version until now will also be able to transfer their old worlds, so no need to worry about losing progress. See the full announcement here for additional details.
