Spider-Man: Miles Morales Announced For PS5

One of the big rumors surrounding the PlayStation 5 is that Insomniac would be working on a sequel to their 2018 Spider-Man game for it. Granted, one could argue it isn’t as much of a rumor as it is an inevitability, given how massively popular and acclaimed the game was. So seeing the game during today’s PS5 reveal wasn’t surprising, but what was a bit of a shocker was exactly who would be headlining this installment. As seen in the title, that would be Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Arguably this also wasn’t too surprising, given that Miles appeared in the 2018 game, had a playable stealth section and the stinger to the game showed him revealing his newfound powers to Peter, setting up a plot point in a sequel. And the massive success of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse bolstered his popularity as well. Still, it’s just a true joy and a nice surprise to see Miles in action on the PS5, as seen in the announcement trailer below.

While we don’t know what the plot is yet, we do get an emphasis on some enemies with futuristic weapons, and some words form Peter about Miles’ father. Even more surprising, the game has a Holiday 2020 release date, meaning we’ll be seeing Spider-Man: Miles Morales on the PS5 sooner than expected.
