Think back to Xbox’s first major online showcase last year, and you may recall a small little title sandwiched between some of the more grander, first-party announcements. One of which was Swedish developer Neon Giant’s debut title, The Ascent. A self-described “action-shooter RPG” set amidst a sprawling, corporate-controlled cyberpunk city, the game can be played both alone as well as with up to three fellow players via co-op.
Now, the game has itself a release date, as well as a new trailer which you can view below. Neon Giant are a 12-person team comprised of industry veterans whom, in the past, have worked on the likes of Gears of War, Bulletstorm and the Wolfenstein series. The Ascent will be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S & PC on July 29, with its Series X version boasting 4K support on top. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass the same day as well.
