At last year’s Game Awards, Sega and Amplitude Studios debuted the latest game in their Endless Universe, Endless Dungeon. But that announcement trailer was arguably more about setting the stage, and we still wanted to see the game in action, obviously. Well then, it seems appropriate that the duo waited for another Geoff Keighley event for that, as Summer Game Fest’s Kickoff Live! showcase featured the first gameplay trailer for Endless Dungeon, which you can check out below.
Much like the recent Far Cry 6 reveals, the gameplay trailer for Endless Dungeon takes the form of a set of rules provided by Zed, one of the crew members shipwrecked on an abandoned space station. For those of you who want a quick rundown, Rule #1: Certain weapons work best against certain monsters. Rule #2: Make sure sure you protect your crystal from said monsters via the use of turrets, since its destruction kind of ends things. Rule #3: Whether controlling a whole squad on your own or playing with friends, make sure you have everyone’s back. And Rule #4: Don’t be afraid to change up your squad with any new heroes that you’ll unlock.
Got all of that? Good. Now hopefully you’ll be ready for this particular blend of twin-stick action when Endless Dungeon comes out in 2022 for all major platforms. Granted, you’ll still probably die and repeat a lot, but hopefully you’re ready for that as well. And if you sign up for the game’s mailing list at their official site, then you’ll be ready with an exclusive skin as well, so take a look if you’re interested.
