Boulder Breaker is a heavy two-handed weapon, and Link swings it slower than one-handed melee weapons or strikes delivered with a two-handed spear. While you should be wary of your defenses with slower attacks and the inability to use a shield, the Boulder Breaker will typically deal greater damage per hit than the average one-handed melee weapon.

Since the Boulder Breaker is a metal weapon, the weapon will attract or amplify environmental lightning and incoming lightning attacks. However, unlike wooden weapons the Boulder Breaker is protected from fire elemental damage and will not burn when subjected to fire.

Boulder Breaker has a Guard Break Power of 72 and a range of 1.8. This weapon deals Blunt damage upon impact with an enemy or object. Cut damage can specifically bisect many environmental objects while Blunt damage shatters structures such as cracked rock.

This weapon can alter the state of your shield when fused with it. Fusing the Boulder Breaker to a shield will grant more shield surfing friction and enable a shield bash attack. Also, when fused with other items, the Boulder Breaker deals extra attack damage on rock type environmental items and hostiles.
