The Glow Effect is a temporary buff in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK). This effect is gained when the player consumes any Materials, Meals, or Elixirs with the Glow Effect.
As stated in the tooltip it will Makes you emit light for a period of time. This effect is temporary and has a set duration indicated in the tooltip under the items name in the player's inventory. The current remaining duration of the buff is also present in the top right of the screen. effect has a time limit depending on the amount of ingredients that were used and therefore the resulting quality.
Where To Get Glow Effect
Players need to gather specific Glow Materials and use them when cooking meals or elixirs at a Cooking Pot or Portable Pot Zonai Device to give the resulting meal the Glow effect. Glow Critters are used in creating Elixirs (in combination with any Monster Part); Glow Ingredients can be used to alter a meal to provide the Glow effect.
