Quick Links

Royal Claymore is a heavy two-handed weapon, and Link swings it slower than one-handed melee weapons or strikes delivered with a two-handed spear. While you should be wary of your defenses with slower attacks and the inability to use a shield, the Royal Claymore will typically deal greater damage per hit than the average one-handed melee weapon.

Since the Royal Claymore is a metal weapon, the weapon will attract or amplify environmental lightning and incoming lightning attacks. However, unlike wooden weapons the Royal Claymore is protected from fire elemental damage and will not burn when subjected to fire.

Royal Claymore can be upgraded to increase overall attack power:

  • Attack Up Level 1: 18 - 20
  • Attack Up Level 2: 21 - 25

It also has a Guard Break Power of 55 and a range of 1.8. This weapon deals Cut damage upon impact with an enemy or object. Cut damage can specifically bisect many environmental objects while Blunt damage shatters structures such as cracked rock.

This weapon can alter the state of your shield when fused with it. Fusing the Royal Claymore to a shield will grant more shield surfing friction and enable a shield bash attack.

Large Swords tend to have additional fusing properties when joined with other items. The Royal Claymore will have an expanded hitbox when fused with other items. This offers Link an increased chance in delivering critical strikes on enemies.
