With E3 just around the corner, it would seem companies are trying to gauge your expectations on what you will be seeing this year. Maybe it's because the show is there to announce positive news instead of negative news, but just weeks before the event, another game has been delayed outside its prior release schedule. Within the last month, Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and now Aliens: Colonial Marines have all been pushed back from fall of this year to early 2013. In Colonial Marine's case, the game will ship in February of 2013 and will be available on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. It is still unconfirmed whether or not the Wii U version will be affected by the delay.

To be fair, we really haven't seen a whole lot from Gearbox's take in the Aliens universe. There have been some promising videos floating around, but nothing concrete enough to suggest the game would actually meet its 2012 release window. With Borderlands 2 coming by year's end, maybe it's best for Gearbox to not rush things and put the entire company in a serious crunch mode over two big franchise titles. With the history of this game, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw another delay before February 2013, but let's hope that won't be the case.
