Over the next six days, Hardcore Gamer will be revealing its Best of E3 2015 Awards leading up to our Game of Show. Today we present you with the Best Conference, Remaster and Surprise:

Best Conference: Xbox

XboxOneConference-E32015-WIN

Micorosft had an absolutely killer E3. After a disastrous 2013 appearance where they announced the Xbox One alongside a DRM setup, a $500 price tag, and a mandatory Kinect purchase, their turnaround has been something all companies can learn from. 2015 was all about the company maximizing what they have. They've done very little with Rare relative to their purchase price, and with Rare Replay, are finally trying to make some real money with them. That compilation doing well could lead to new releases for Battletoads (currently being used with Shovel Knight and Kinect Sports Rivals), Conker (which is already having the waters tested in Project Spark), Perfect Dark, or even Blast Corps. The Elite controller furthers Microsoft's commitment to making a better controller for consumers, and the addition of backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One this fall shocked the world. While doing this in 2013 would have been ideal, it does make the system an even more attractive purchase in late 2015 as Microsoft themselves adds value to the 360's library with its Games With Gold program. Rise of the Tomb Raider looks to provide the best Tomb Raider experience to date. Fallout 4 will also be better on Xbox One than any other console due to PC mods being cross-compatible, and the Xbox One version comes with the 360 version of Fallout 3 as well. Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6, and Gears of War Ultimate Edition provide experiences you won't get anywhere else. Minecraft is also coming to the HoloLens, offering up a never-before-seen level of augmented reality to a gaming experience.

Best Remaster/Remake: Mega Man Legacy

MegamanLegacy-E32015-WIN

Mega Man Legacy was a huge surprise for E3. The blue bomber has been in compilations before, but never for current gen hardware. The Legacy collection is set to remake the games and optimize them for HD displays, but retain the original look of the franchise. The core games are being retained, but new features are being added - so unlike most compilations, this isn't just a straight ROM dump. Challenge modes have been added to each game, as have leaderboards. Those wanting to improve their game can look at replays of other players, or upload their own after a particularly good run. Series veterans will love the museum mode, with its plethora of original sketches, official art, and character illustrations. Mega Man Legacy releases on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this summer with a 3DS release coming this winter.

Best Surprise: Shenmue III

Shenmue3-E32015-WIN

Since the release of Shenmue II on both the Dreamcast (outside of North America) and Xbox, fans have been clamoring for Shenmue III. Newcomers to gaming, or those who just missed the original Shenmue due to it being before their time may not fully understand it. However, anyone who lived through the shift from the PlayStation to the Dreamcast can vouch for what a technological marvel the original game is. Shenmue II followed that up with something that was far greater in scope, and then nothing. Every so often, you'd hear murmurs, but nothing came of them until E3. Sony's announcement of a Kickstarter for Shenmue III left fans in visible shock, and the announcement itself crashed Kickstarter. Shenmue's future isn't fully known right now, but it's brighter than at any point in over a decade.
