Wait, what year is it? The first digital version of Final Fantasy VII has been unveiled, offering a number of modern-day additions that, unfortunately, have nothing to do with the visuals. Square Enix will be selling the game through their own digital store, and while it hasn't been announced anywhere else, gamers have pulled up a Steam registry for the game, so expect the 15-year old epic to be released on everyone's favorite service.

The PC digital version will include a bunch of new extras including achievements, cloud saves and a character booster. The character booster will allow you to upgrade your character with a click of the button, just in case you're stuck. Whether or not that will have a price tag rotating around it will be determined when the game is released. Final Fantasy VII will run player $9.99 (£7.99 / €9.99) and be released sometime in the near future. Here are the incredibly low system requirements that I'd expect almost everyone be able to run:

Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 (32/64-bit)

2GHz Processor or faster

1GB RAM

DirectX 9-compatible graphic card

Here's hoping they get working on the true greatest Final Fantasys of the Playstation era, VIII and IX, and bring them over. For more on Final Fantasy VII PC, head over to their official website.
