There’s plenty of useful stuff to find lying around in the poorly lit and oftentimes dangerous rooms of the Black Iron Prison, from ammo and health injectors to sellable loot and other goodies. But few discoverables can compare with the excitement of finding a new weapon schematic, with The Callisto Protocol featuring three optional guns that can be fully missed if you’re not paying close attention. Although there’s a chance these weapon schematics may reappear in later chapters of the game, our guide below should help ensure that you retrieve these weapon schematics at the earliest possible opportunity, so all you’ll need to do is bring them back to the nearest Reforge (as long as you have enough credits to create them).
Skunk Gun
This shotgun-like weapon can be found relatively early in hte game, and should quickly become a core part of your arsenal. In the third chapter Aftermath, Jacob will eventually be tasked with reuniting with fellow prisoner Elias. Before doing so, look for the gate to Workshop D302, and a Gate Fuse should by lying on the ground nearby. After you pick it up, retrace your steps back to D3 Basement Storage and open the locked door with the fuse. Head inside the vent on your left, and then check your left again after crawling through it to find the Skunk Gun schematic laying on a workbench.
Tac Pistol
The next missable weapon won’t be until Chapter 6, Below, where you’ll want to keep an eye out for Workshop 2A. In the room located just before the workshop, you should notice an opening on your right side, which leads to a small enclosed area with some lockers at the end of it. Make your way towards those lockers, but be sure to stop and pick up the Tactical Pistol schematic that’s resting on the desk ahead on your left-hand side.
Assault Rifle
The third and final missable gun can first be acquired in the seventh chapter, Colony. During the early stages of this section, you’ll be tasked with getting a keycard in order to operate the elevator. The keycard’s located in Security, but before you make your way there, head through the General Store and make an immediate left into a nearby bathroom. Sitting right underneath the mirror by the middle sink is the Assault Rifle schematic, but that’s not the only surprise waiting for you in the bathroom.
