Coming up on its September release date, Dead or Alive 5 is slowly becoming more and more intriguing. Gamers were questioning whether or not they would be adding anyone new as the roster was looking mighty full with the new Virtua Fighter characters making an appearance. E3 sounded like the perfect time to make an announcement of a new character, but clearly that wasn't the case. In the latest issue of Famitsu it is revealed a new member will be joining the cast of Dead or Alive 5.

His name is Rig, and based on the magazine, he is a Tae Kwon Do fighter who hails from the great white north of Canada. It's about damn time we got ourselves a Canadian fighter as all we're known for is Georges St-Pierre and Wolf Hawkfield from Virtua Fighter. Regardless, Rig looks to bring a new fighting style to the Dead or Alive universe, something fast but controlled. Unfortunately, we haven't got a whole lot more information on the fighter, nor has Tecmo Koei released any screens, but we'll keep you posted as news leaks out.
