Game Informer Magazine has revealed their July cover story to be none other than the next installment into the Gears of War franchise. According to the magazine, the game will be officially announced with a proper title and story setting at Microsoft's E3 press conference this upcoming Monday. Pictured on the cover is a man in chains being escorted away from all the chaos in the background. Without doubt this is a prequel to the first game, and if you're a fan of the Gears of War franchise, then you will probably jump to the conclusion that the man being taken away is Marcus Fenix, who in the lore was sentenced to 40 years in jail after abandoning his post to rescue his father, but this has yet to be confirmed.

In any case, it is a bit surprising to see another Gears of War game announced so soon, especially considering the supposedly final game in the trilogy was released last September, but then again who wouldn't want to capitalize on this multi-million dollar hit? Be sure to stay tuned here during E3 for all the coverage.
