Until today, it seemed like Nidhogg was one of those independent games with an excruciatingly long development period. MESSHOF’s game first began receiving acclaim in 2010 and continued to as it toured the convention circuits for years. Thankfully, a release date for this intriguing fencing game was finally announced.
Nidhogg is going to launch on Steam in only a few weeks. On January 13th, the game will go live (Windows only at the moment) and feature single and multiplayer modes. So far, multiplayer has only been demoed locally at conventions, but online multiplayer is going to be included.
No price has been announced. In the meantime, here’s the latest trailer to give curious gamers a look at Nidhogg.
