If you've got a Club Nintendo membership, and purchase one of the eligible games from the eShop, you'll get a free version of the original Donkey Kong with bonus content. This version of DK won't be made available for purchase, and has content never before seen in the U.S. All you have to do is link your eShop and Club Nintendo accounts and buy either Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Style Savvy: Trendsetters, Crosswords Plus, Art Academy: Lessons For Everyone!, or Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask and make sure to register it by 1/6/13. After you do that, Nintendo will e-mail you a download code for DK 3-4 weeks later.

I'm intrigued by just what the exclusive content could be, although I'd set my expectations to it having the NES version's missing fourth level, and that's about it. I like the diversity in the game choices, although having to download the eShop versions instead of it also working with a Club Nintendo code in the boxed one kind of sucks. Still, if you're big into eShop downloads and love DK, this is a nice little bonus.
