With January’s release of Saturday Morning RPG done and shipped, it’s time to move on to the next round of releases for Limited Run Games. The next game was announced today to be YIIK: A Post-Modern RPG, and it’s a perfect complement to the 1980s world of Saturday Morning RPG. YIIK is set at the tail end the 90s, a JRPG-style adventure set in the semi-real world of 16 years ago. The game was released for both Vita and PS4, and both versions are coming sometime mid-April with a specific date to be announced soon-ish. Adding to the overall shininess of the package will be a full-color manual plus foil accents on the cover.
For those keeping track, that means that the full announced Limited Run Games discography is Breach & Clear, Saturday Morning RPG, YIIK, and in the unscheduled future Volume, Futuridium EP, and Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty. It’s a nice little selection of games but still only a percentage of the over 30 titles currently planned. Of course, those plans initially involved releasing 13 games in 2016, several of which would be both PS4 and Vita, but seeing as it’s almost April the timing is looking pretty tight to hit that goal. Still, no matter how many titles get released in the remaining nine months of 2016, it promises to still be a very interesting year for physical-release gaming.
